HOTEL / DROPLA / BUILT 2010

JATVARI complex is a family hotel for country tourism. The architectural forms, the treatment of the facades and the choice of materials try to create a modern version of the traditional Bulgarian country architecture. The composition consists of two buildings round a paved courtyard: HOUSE 1 – on the north side is 2-floored and HOUSE 2 – on the south side is a single story building. The access to the complex is from the east through a high fence enclosing the yard. A large wooden gate allows admittance inside a roofed space that shelters the entrances to both buildings. The location of buildings provides the best exposure to sunshine for all major in-door spaces in the complex. That is the reason to locate the higher building in the north end of the site.
